How to Use Kusuri Chloramine T
Kusuri Chloramine T offers different dosage rates depending on the treatment objective.
For bacterial reduction, the manufacturer’s guidance specifies 5g per 4,546 litres (1,000 gallons) of pond water. For parasite treatment, the stated dose is 15g per 4,546 litres (1,000 gallons).
Before treatment, calculate your pond volume accurately and check your pH and KH levels. Then, measure the required powder and dissolve it in a clean watering can containing pond water.
Gradually distribute the solution across the pond over approximately one hour. This helps prevent a sudden concentration of treatment in one area.
Switch off your UV steriliser during the treatment course and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for repeat applications.
Important Safety Information
Chloramine T requires particular care in soft water conditions. Check your pond’s pH and KH before use because unsuitable water conditions can increase the risk of toxicity to fish.
If your pH falls below 7 and your general hardness is below 6°dH, the manufacturer’s guidance advises reducing the dose by 75%.
Do not use Kusuri Chloramine T with salt or other medications. Avoid overdosing, as excessive quantities can cause fish fatalities.
Kusuri recommends a minimum water temperature of 12.5°C (54.5°F). Always wear protective gloves and suitable eye protection when handling the powder.
